about

Before I'll Make You Quiet came Good Evening, Ghosts; a distillation of the album's essence and inspiration, the track became a starting point for what was to come.
With a graceful yet mountainous temperament, Radere builds dense swirling patterns of echoing harmonics around surging drones and worn textures. Passing through a series of shifting phrases, Good Evening, Ghosts possesses an air of suspense and wonder within its ambient folds.

Such rich material is primed for remix/realignment by other like-minded artists. Benoît Honoré Pioulard, Jannick Schou, Sun Hammer and Anduin expand the unique source, enveloping it within their own approach and style. The result is four distinct artefacts which feel both inherently connected and a departure from Radere's piece. Completing the release is the full length original track, and a track of raw field recordings which forms the basis for much of the tracks on I'll Make You Quiet.

Benoît Pioulard
Since a young age, Thomas Meluch (a.k.a. Benoît Pioulard) has been fascinated with the sounds of nature and tape decay. Through a decade of recordings for labels including Kranky, Type and Ghostly International, he has fostered an infatuation with a sort of sonic density that combines remnants of pop song structures with the lushness and unpredictability of field recordings.

Jannick Schou
Jannick Schou is a Danish sound-artist making ambient/noise/drone. He has releases on several labels including Experimedia, Dead Pilot Records and Under The Spire. He's also known under the moniker Cylon.

Sun Hammer
Sun Hammer is an American sound artist who loves eating sweets but restricts his intake with a weekends-only limit, adores mainstream rap, utilizes bass for its healing properties, and identifies as an Enneagram Type Five.

Anduin
Anduin is Jonathan Lee, a musician and artist living in Richmond VA. His performances and music are often environmental, multimedia experiences, which occasionally include collaborators like Jimmy Ghaphery, Erik K Skodvin, Dag Rosenqvist, Stephen Vitiello, Stefan Nemeth, Noah Saval, John Twells, Carl Ritger and Gareth Davis. Stolen Years, his six releases under the Anduin moniker, is available now through SMTG Limited.

Radere Denver, Colorado

Radere is the alias of Carl Ritger. His work primarily explores the shadowy gulf that exists between drone and noise, blurring electronics and location recordings into densely textured sonic monoliths.
